Untitled Freeform Burl

Dimensions: 8"T x 5"W x 5"D

Materials: Bigleaf maple burl with translucent mineral crystals. Interior painted black with acrylic paint. Finished with metal-acid dyes and tung oil.

Comment: This piece of maple had a large bark inclusion which I removed and smoothed-out. Then inlay was added and the wood carved to create the inlaid ridges. Finally it was airbrushed with dye and finish applied. Traded with a woodturner friend for a beautiful carved bowl.
